  • A new report states that there is a strong relationship between alcohol use among youth and fighting, stealing, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, skipping school, feeling depressed, and deliberately trying to hurt or kill themselves.
  • Worldwide, alcohol causes an estimated 20 �'' 30 percent of cancer of the esophagus, liver cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, epilepsy, homicide / murder and motor vehicle accidents.
  • The proportion of current drinkers that binge is highest in the 18- to 20-year-old group (51%).
  • Problems that are related to alcohol use are generally reported to be among the highest in young adults that are aged 18-24; the lowest degree of alcohol related problems are reported to be among adults that are ages 65 and older.
